Media and Content Officer

Description

Are you a science communicator who would like to apply your skills in the dynamic environment of CERN? We are looking to recruit a media and content officer who would work in CERN's education, communication and outreach group (IR-ECO), contributing half of their time to the CERN Press Office and the other half to the Editorial Content Development section.

Among your tasks will be:

  • Addressing journalists’ requests
  • Organising press visits and events
  • Interviewing, fact checking, researching
  • Synthesizing and repackaging content for specific audiences
  • Writing, editing and subediting content
  • Creating, updating and managing online content
  • Providing administrative support

Skills

  • Previous experience in science communication is desired
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • An ability to understand complex scientific concepts and articulate these in a variety of engaging ways as appropriate to target audience
  • Experience of web publishing would be an asset
  • An excellent command of English (knowledge of French a plus)
  • Background in physics a plus
